Melissa Alexander Campbell was born on 25 February 1991. She has lived in Malaysia since she was about 5 years old. Perhaps, you’ll recognize her from the grand Hollywood production of ‘Anna & the King’ starring Jodie Foster and Chow Yun Fatt back in 1999.
When producers of the movie announced their filming in Malaysia, thousands of kids went for audition for the role of Princess Fa-Ying (one of the lead role in the movie).Fortunately, blessed with good looks and talented acting skills, Melissa won the hearts of producers and other film crews. From then onwards, she began her career in the media line. She is experienced in modeling since she was a child.
In 2007, she landed herself a role as a dancer in Hannah Tan’s music video (a renowned Malaysian singer). Therefore, Melissa is not only a successful model but also a gifted singer and dancer.
She recently rose to stardom once again for appearing in a local drama production ‘Ghost’ aired on 8TV. She is an accomplished model for print adverts and TV commercials. After appearing in ‘Anna & the King’ in 1999s, advertisers had chosen her for various print ads for Hamster Fashion, Vanity Fair and MAA Insurance.
Besides that, she has also made an appearance in KFC, Yakult, Sunkist, F & N, Sime Tyres, Cadbury and Feather shampoo print adverts. She appears regularly in TV commercials for F & N, Telekom, Pizza Hut, Mamee, McDonald’s, Maxis, Cornflakes, Motorola, Wrigley Chewing Gum, Paddle Pop ice-cream and Nestle Yogurt.
Her modeling portfolio includes Yakult and Mines Resort. Though one can say that her striking looks landed her various modeling jobs in print adverts and TV commercials, her height (5 ft 2 inches) could be one of the main reasons she failed to make it into runway shows.
In 2007, she attended Cosmopolitan Reader Gathering as a guest artist and also hosted another event – Celebrity Fitness. With her talent in acting and singing, she can definitely make it big in local industry.
